SOPEDIA – Standard Operating Procedure Database, The Launch

International news
Building knowledge, keeping it up-to-date and transferring it, is key to the success of any industry. Today, each-and-everyone of us, are doing our own thing in our own corner, meaning lots of double, triple, … work. SOPEDIA is an attempt at creating a collective effort for the development of the hotel and hospitality industry’s standard operation procedures (SOPs) and templates. The hope is that as many as possible will share knowledge and experience with us, all others that use/read us and to the benefit of the industry.

Hotel Report is all about sharing and providing relevant information, so please help us by providing your news and procedures. Is there anything it in for you?

     • The more of you share and participate, the more you’ll get in return, as the database builds up. This means getting more knowledge and efficient use of time.

     • We’ll add your name as an author (If you want it) and a link to your website/profile. Important, it will not stay forever, if somebody provides an update to your SOP that we approve, their name and link will be placed instead. This is a needed competitive element that will hopefully focus us on making things as-good-as-possible.

     • The database will at one point (not very soon, promise) be accessible as a paid service only. However, authors will be given a free access for two years from the point it becomes a paid service. This free period will be prolonged for as long as you continue to contribute to the database.

     • The SOPs and templates will be rated based upon how many times they have been read and updated. Those that “Score” the best, we’ll promote stronger. Want to build your expert profile on Hotel Report produce the best and we’ll add more information about you and link your SOPs and templates to your profile and promote you.

What about AI, you say? This database will be human based, you can of course use the help of AI, but it must be human verified, adapted and accurate. We’ll not publish everything we get. If it looks AI generated or contains errors, our editorial team reserves the right not to publish. If your SOP does not get published, with our highest respect and understanding, try harder end re-send.

In our news section, we’ll provide information about things that effect working processes, as well as launch ours and your discussion requests. The actual discussion will take place on social media (account to be published later) and be promoted/announced in our news section. These critical and analytical takes on our working processes will be crucial to improving them further.

We’ll keep posting SOP materials every week, to get it rolling, but we hope to see your participation shortly. All SOPs and templates should be sent to editor@hotel.report with the heading “SOPs & Templates”, so that it’ll be easier for us to spot them. By providing us with materials, you give us your consent to using and publishing them. All materials must be written by yourself and be unique. We’ll investigate if things have been copied from other resources. If such has been identified, you’ll be banned as a future author. This database is based upon fairness and your unique knowledge/experience. Any discrepancies found by you in our already published materials can be sent to editor@hotel.report and must be marked “Discrepancy”.

We look forward to reading you and to build an industry leading knowledge database.

Yours sincerely,

Blake
